Ninth Annual Lovettsville Christkindlmarkt
The Loudoun Valley German Society is sponsoring its Ninth Annual CHRISTKINDLMARKT on Saturday and Sunday, December 3 and 4, 2015 in Lovettsville, Virginia to celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season.
It is the intent of the Christkindlmarkt to promote a typical Christmas market found in Germany during the Advent season leading up to Christmas. In these markets, hand crafted items, artisan foods such as sausages, gingerbread (Lebkuchen), Stollen (yeast fruit/marzipan bread), chestnuts and drinks (mulled wine known as Glűhwein) are offered for sale. Holiday greenery, decorations and Christmas trees are also sold on the periphery. You would not find mass produced items of lesser quality. Each vendor creates a unique “storefront” display that would be reminiscent of a small German town’s shopping central district during the holiday season.
Saturday: 10 am to 6 pm
Sunday: 10 am to 5 pm
